The Link better sell like hotcakes. People have been clamoring for budget USA made stuff. Time to put their wallets where their mouths are.

The 1776 Link reminds me (a little bit) of the ZT 0770 in overall size and shape. Blade steel is 420HC. I don't remember Kershaw using this steel before.

They use it in the Chive and Scallion, and there was also a Blur in 420HC that was a dealer exclusive some years back. Those are the ones I can recall.

Given the price and the fact that it's USA made I can understand why they'd use 420HC. Looks great.

8cr13mov is only used on budget knives that are made in China. The 1776 knife is a budget USA knife, so I assume that's the reason it has 420HC steel instead of 8cr13mov.

There are a number of interesting new Kershaws for 2015 as well. Here are the ones that stood out most to me:

The blue Blur definitely caught my eye. Not really a "new" model, I know, but the blue anodizing they do on them looks pretty incredible (based on what they did for the 1670NBS30V).

The Link, as has been mentioned, is an attractive new USA-made budget-friendly offering. I really can't think of many (any?) new designs by any manufacturer in recent years that is USA-made with a likely street price under $40. And it's being offered in four different variations right off the bat. I'm really liking the look of the aluminum one with the blackwashed drop point blade.

The Launch series marks Kershaw's return to automatics, and they look great. Interesting designs, CPM154 blade steel, backspacers integrated into the milling of the handles themselves, made in USA, and likely street price of around $100. I was leaning towards the Launch 2 because of it reminded me of the 0888, but after watching the video, the Launch 1 is looking more and more attractive as well.

The Shield / mini-Eklipse looks pretty awesome. Kind of like how the Cryo complemented the 0560 and 0550 when the KAI-Hinderer collaborations first launched, this one looks to be a very EDC-oriented design based off the 0392 / Eklipse. Quad-position clip, assisted-opening via flipper or thumb studs, and likely street price of around $35 are going to make this one a hot seller.

The CQC-4KXL looks very interesting too. It's the largest Kershaw to be released in recent years, to the best of my recollection. At 9" OAL, this is going to be a big knife!

the Kershaw Tinder also seems interesting. Looks like it will be pretty low priced with the soft 3cr13 steel, but it might be useful as a cheap "beater" hatchet so that you don't mess up your good hatchets.

Standouts to me:
Link(1776), RJ Tactical, and definitely that CQC-4KXL. Since I love blue handles, the blue Blur and teal Shuffle will likewise be on my list. Maybe the Camp 12, but I'm not totally sold on that one yet.

the Tinder hatchet looks even better in the video, it looks small enough to be a pocket hatchet.

Damn, after seeing KAI's new stuff and seeing Cold Steel's and Spyderco's new stuff, I think it's safe to say that 2015 will be a great year for knives
