Kershaw 2420ST / Rat 1

My son has used the Kershaw large liner action 2420 ST for years doing rough work, and it has well up very well. It is his number one choice of knife.

Those knives are getting harder to find and I've suggested a Rat 1 as a replacement. He isn't sure about the toughness of the Rat 1 and asked me to consult the forum members.

Your opinions please on how the Rat 1 would compare to the large Kershaw liner action.

Hi Kevin, I'd say its just as tough as a rat 1 and I'm a Kershaw fan. For the price and what you get it's a great all arounder. Only difference I could think of is the steel might be softer on the rat 1 but I honestly have no idea. Have you looked at any other Kershaws like the blackout?
