This one came in the mail yesterday. As I suspected, it wasn't perfect. The knife is unused but has been neglected a little. The handle and edge are perfect, and the blade shows no scratches. However, there are some pretty serious tarnish spots on the blade embelishment. It is nothing I am worried about though. I'm just happy to have it home safe and sound.

I tried to do my best with the pics, but, I am no photographer and it is hard to do such a beautiful knife any justice.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to clean the blade or restore the finish on the embelishment, please, let me know. As you can see from the pics I didn't even attempt to clean it off... somehow I don't think Flitz is the answer to this one :D

honestly spiral the pics are fine except for the reflection off the embellishment in the first one. if you have a dremel with like a super small polishing cone it might work but you'd need something very small so as not to destroy the detail work. im sure dave or thomas can tell you the process by which the embellishment was put on and what to do to clean it.

btw, that is a beautiful specimen you have there. nice snag.

It's actual tarnish, not dirt? I'm thinking some kind of organic cleaner like Simple Green, or Orange Power for the first attempt; that shouldn't harm the graphic. CLR might work, but I'd make sure and dilute it, and clean it off quickly...that stuff will eat through the chrome to the copper/brass on a faucet pretty rapidly (ask me how I know  ).

Maybe some makers could chime in on this one?

Nice score Spiral!!

I'd bet if you sent it to Dave, he could do wonders with it. ;)
