I recently purchased this knife at an auction. I bought it because it was cheap, and I was told that's it's a rare knife. Can anyone give me any information about this model? I don't see anything special about it. If anyone can give me feedback. I would much appreciate it. Thanks!
Ken

I'm sure someone with actual knowledge will come along to help, but as I recall, what makes this knife special is that it is an old early Kershaw pattern. It looks like a nice traditional lockback design. I don't know that there is much more to it than that.

You sure don't see a lot of the old Kershaws running around in my experience. I don't know how collectible they are, but I think they are pretty uncommon these days.

I can’t help with any info but that is a great looking knife.
How long is the blade?

It looks smaller than a 110 Buck.

Nice pick up! I have seen a couple of pictures but never held one since they, as mentioned above, are pretty rare.

Nice older knife. Probably good quality. Make a great user. Kind of a modern take on a barlow. Don't think they're highly collectible though. I'm sure some one with more info will be along.--KV

I no little about Kershaw, but the Japanese made ones are often very good knives with decent steel.

Thanks for all your feedback. You know I'm not a expert with knives and I really can't judge. But in my opinion. When I hold it in my hand. It feels like a regular typical pocket knife. I bought it cause it was cheap and when I did research on it. I didn't find anything. Except for someone on this forum saying that this is there best pocket knife which was the Kershaw 2600. I'm happy I got it.
One more question. It's ok to put olive or mineral oil on the wood and brass?

I will often get drops on those parts of my other knives and as long as your not soaking them I would say it is fine but IIRC there are better treatments for the wood not sure on Brass though.

Olive oil can go rancid over time due to oxidation, so you're probably better off using mineral oil.
