My wife has one being held for her at a local shop that got their knives in a few weeks back. I refused to pay $600 for it, especially when I went back last Friday and compared it to my TILT!], which really did get VANAX75 steel and I could have had 2+ of for that price. Both salesman agreed - the TILT! was smoother - and felt and looked more stout. No question - the 777 is the better looking - sculpted CF and Damascus blade spine, etc. It's rarity is a plus for some - I doubt that it will be as important if the knife develops a defect, as we were told that there are no spares. I 'think' the blade had some side play - my example did - my well-used TILT!, of course, doesn't. It's Ti-sided even on the CF scale side, however - which would seem important to me re strength. I will admit to being jaded against the 777 by all the hype, pre-sell, delays, changes, etc, since it won BLADE 2011 Knife of the Year, so my remarks must be taken with a grain of salt. My example of the BLADE 2010 'Most Innovative Imported Design', my LionSteel SR-1 bought at BLADE 2012, was beset with an internal QC problem eventually corrected by a new pivot, which they shipped me, demonstrated the importance of spares, too - and made me a bit trepidatious re award winning knife purchases. It's the cost, too - $600 will also buy a 0560 + 0561 + S30V Blur at 'street' prices. If you are a collector, I understand it. If, like me, you are a 'collector/user', or as I like to say re myself, I am an 'acquirer' - and like to have a spare knife, when possible, maybe pass on this one. Of course, then there are the bragging rights...
