I placed a pre-order for the 777 back in Nov 2011. I see a number of people posting notices of shipments going out. I contacted the online retailer who took my order and they don't have any information. Is there a list of retailers that get their deliveries before others? Just want to know who I should be making future pre-orders with so the pain stops.

kershawguy for KAI products, hands down. Dave rocks and has never let me down.

I'm on more than a few lists, I have yet to hear anything. Be patient young Jedi.

They are going out in batches of a couple of hundred as they complete them. I don't think there is any method to who is getting them first.

Does anyone have a "Good" list to make sure your name is on so that you actually end up getting one. End up putting your name on 5-6 different lists with pre-order. I am not sure that Kershaw/ZT is setting limits with each dealer, and then each dealer places those allotted quantities out for reserve. I'm on one list with BHQ (70-80 down), but I don't have a clue if they will receive enough to fulfill all their pre-orders.

Original pre-order quote of $480 was good, but only if you actually end up having one delivered to you. Oh the hoops we go through just to quench the fire :o)

I shall perservere.

I thought that the dealers placed their pre-buys (commitments to purchase that is billed against a line of credit or requires cash) weeks before the knives were even announced.

My wife has one being held for her at a local shop that got their knives in a few weeks back. I refused to pay $600 for it, especially when I went back last Friday and compared it to my TILT!], which really did get VANAX75 steel and I could have had 2+ of for that price. Both salesman agreed - the TILT! was smoother - and felt and looked more stout. No question - the 777 is the better looking - sculpted CF and Damascus blade spine, etc. It's rarity is a plus for some - I doubt that it will be as important if the knife develops a defect, as we were told that there are no spares. I 'think' the blade had some side play - my example did - my well-used TILT!, of course, doesn't. It's Ti-sided even on the CF scale side, however - which would seem important to me re strength. I will admit to being jaded against the 777 by all the hype, pre-sell, delays, changes, etc, since it won BLADE 2011 Knife of the Year, so my remarks must be taken with a grain of salt. My example of the BLADE 2010 'Most Innovative Imported Design', my LionSteel SR-1 bought at BLADE 2012, was beset with an internal QC problem eventually corrected by a new pivot, which they shipped me, demonstrated the importance of spares, too - and made me a bit trepidatious re award winning knife purchases. It's the cost, too - $600 will also buy a 0560 + 0561 + S30V Blur at 'street' prices. If you are a collector, I understand it. If, like me, you are a 'collector/user', or as I like to say re myself, I am an 'acquirer' - and like to have a spare knife, when possible, maybe pass on this one. Of course, then there are the bragging rights...

I hope you are correct. That would mean that the dealer would have enough to fulfill there pre-orders, and in time, my number will come due.
Wish I had entered the forums a little more timely, the Tilt looks like a really nice and unusal knife.

Patience hommie, it will get there when it gets there. They never release an entire run in one shot.
