On a trip to walmart to check out the kershaw vapor and storm i saw this little kershaw ace for 10 dollars. I was wondering about its performance, and the blade steel, anyone know aobt it?

I just saw a posting about it in a thread about keychain knives on another knife forum

The poster said it was a Kershaw Chinese blade, but said it was well made -- the first I've ever heard of it

may have to take a trip to wally world and check it out myself

can't find it on any internet knife sites

I bought one the other week at Wal-Mart. It is a very small knife, it has a faily week lockback (I could break the lock with hand pressure and spine impact) but very little blade play. Descent knife for very light chores, lock is a little too weak for me, but it has a very nice blade shape and it seemed to have good steel as it sharpened easily, compared to 420 J2 or HC (too small to tell the difference). Its woth checking out if you like little knives.

Picked one up at walmart tonight for $9.87....can't beat the price & manufacturer's rep for a small pocket knife that'll do nothing more than open the occasional box and trim the occasional piece of cloth...

I picked up two on the bay that were airport confiscations last week. They came yesterday and am sharpening and tuning them up tonite. They sharpen easily but that's probably because the blade is so thin. There isn't much substance here. It's a little too big for a keychain and doesn't have a clip.

For the same size knife, I like the Gerber 425 E-Z-OUT. It was also an airport confiscation. I like to buy knives that way. You usually can get a quality knife for give-away prices.

Bottom line on this knife is: I wouldn't buy one new and will probably give the two I have away when I'm finished with them.
