Kershaw Ace?

Yes it's a real Kershaw. It was a Wal-Mart exclusive, that is now discontinued. It is made in China, we make knives in China, and will continue to make knives in China, even have future plans for new knives in China. We're not exclusive to making knives here in Oregon. We have to be flexible and meet all price points. To default to the competitors wouldn't be smart business.

Now the majority of our knives are made here, but once you start reaching your capacity...

Yes. It's a small key chain size knife. Every knife company has to offer a $10 MSRP knife man, its just how it works...no need to diss it, it has its niche.

I looked on other vendor sites, and it appears to be legit. It's not on Kershaw's site, but I've seen that happen with higher-end pieces too.

I have to say that I am generally quite willing to pay extra to purchase things made in the USA (even cars though I have been getting burned a bit on them) and even more so not in China. It seems to be that having things produced in china is asking for patent infringements. This is just me personally and I understand the market niches etc.

Not to drag this into a political debate, but the reality is, we wouldnt have all the cool affordable toys (pcs, camera, tvs, etc) if they were made in America. I for one am A-OK with being able to get imported goods at a price I can afford. We have become dependent on foreign production to have access to these luxuries. (it also keeps China friendly since our economies are intertwined, but thats a debate for another day).

An American made Outcast would fetch a pretty penny, and it's one of the best deals going because of where it's produced.

Welcome to a global economy.

No doubt to any and all of what you have said. A family tried to purchase nothing that was made in China for a period of a year (several?) and found that this was virtually impossible. This still does not change my opinion and since most of my knife purchases are purely because I want them, and not because of need, I can exercise this.
