i live in texas and have a kershaw leek and have been thinking about getting a zt 350. sense both of these knifes have speed safe on them i was wondering if they are legal i ask some one through someone else and they said that as long as it breaks at more than a 30* angle im fine. what does he mean and bluntly is it legal or illegal for me to carry every day.

I'm not sure about Texas, but I've never heard of anywhere that defines the legality of an A/O by what angle the spring kicks in. As I recall there were only a couple states that banned assisted openers, and I don't think Texas was one of them. But check your specific state's penal code to find exactly what it says.
this link seems to show the current law, and it seems to ban "true" switchblades and not AOs or flickable knives....I just did a search to find this so please check yourself as I did read of a person charged in Texas for having an AO sometime back...
