Kershaw Asset--Thoughts?

Hey, all:

I ordered a Kershaw Asset for a way lower-than-usual price (even for the Asset, which I usually see going for 20-30$--aka pretty cheap). I've never handled one so I'm wondering about that blade profile as I wait on it to be shipped to me. Anybody have one? Like it or hate it? I'm reconciled to the fact that, although a Kershaw, it is a lower grade steel (though still decent), and made in China, but it looks like a solid little knife, and reviews that I've seen thus far seem positive. Is it common for the tip to break? Just curious.

All the PRC AO Kershaws are great, among the best values in all knifedom.

Asset is a great slicer and wicked as can be for piercing. Not a bad choice at all for a self-defense option either.

Funky looking grip feels and works great, ala also the Compound.

I think 8CR13MOV is just fine for an all around steel choice.

I've got one. For $20 you really cant complain much. The blade is great, almost a Persian style and like OhSoot said, it's definitely a piercer. The speed safe and flipper design deploys the blade nice a quick too. Make sure to keep the blade oiled, that bead-blasted finish will rust on you in high humidity.

Nutnfancy has a thorough on youtube if your looking for more detail.
