Trying to decide between the 2 for EDC, ill probably end up getting both someday but which one would you guys recommend first?

Anyone have the Asset and like it?

Honestly, it just depends on your preferences. I own the Tremor, myself, and I love it. Some people hate the idea of carrying a folder with a blade that big, but I don't. It just kind of disappears in my pocket until I need it. The recurve is not only attractive, but great for slicing tasks. Also, the Tremor has g10 scales. I believe the Asset has FRN scales. I personally hate FRN, but you may be different.

I was looking for a hard working knife to carry sometimes in my pocket, and sometimes in my tool bags. I didn't like the FRN on the Asset, nor did I like the thinner, pointy blade as compared to the Tremor. Not a fan of the fishtail shaped handles on the Asset, either.

So I bought the Tremor after looking at many Kershaws, not just these two. After I got the knife and immediately put it to work on the job site. It has been out on the job for about 5 months at this time.

I can't describe what a great heavy duty knife the knife turned out to be. Great lockup, heavy duty blade, good scales (stand up well to cleaning fluids), and the ergos are great. Slips in the jeans (tip up carry) and I don't even notice it. The Tremor has done the unthinkable to me... it booted the RAT 1 out of my pocket!

In fact, I liked the Tremor so much I did something I have never done in my life. I bought two more!

The Tremor fills the bill for me as a great all around large folder. It isn't blocky like the ZT designs, the steel is pretty good, and after several months of on site work it still locks up tighter than a vault.

I'm glad I bought the other two as I know I won't be without even if one gets lost, broken or stolen.

I already have a couple huge folders so im sort of leaning towards the Asset right now.

There's your answer. I own the Tremor and Asset, and the Asset is certainly a notch downward in size. The Asset is in many respects a 2/3 version of the Tremor. There are major differences, no doubt, but the Asset is more pocketable.

I recently purchased the Tremor over the Compound. It is HUGE! Great knife for $20, but be prepared to walk funny with that beast in your pocket!

Yeah im gonna get the Asset first. I have an Enlan el-01, a Boker Folding Kukri and Bulldog for my huge folders.

Awesome. The Tremor is a beast of a knife, but if you were already thinking of going smaller than the Asset should do just fine. Throw some pics up when you get it. And yes, Kershaw's high value China-made line has nothing but winners! Tremor, Compound, Funxion, Clash, Cryo and now the Thermite, Cryo 2, Shuffle, and Injection. All awesome designs for no more than $40 a piece. Talk about bang for your buck!

The asset is an ok knife, I'm not a huge fan of the scales or the fact it doesn't have the same t6 screws to hold the scales on that kershaw usually uses. But OK for less than 20 bux
