Hi Folks,

I am wondering if there is a chance I can still find a satin finished Kershaw Avalanche. I've seen pictures of them online, like here:

http://www.guns.com.pl/ava.html

But I assume this is a past version, as Kershaw's site only describes the black coated one. Does anyone here know when they stopped producing the satin Avalanche? I'd love to find one in plain edge.

Thanks a billion, Jeff/1911.

I was lucky enough to pick up one listed here. IMHO the Avalanche is an under-rated knife. I don't usually get excited about assisted openening knives, but I could not pass up the deal I got on this one. It stinks that Kershaw elected to go for only the coated blade on current production units.

I saw one at the last gun show I went to and the guy offered it to me for 60.00.Nice blade but I had spent all my gun show cash.

At least I know that there are some out there. I'll keep an eye out for one.

Thank you, Jeff.

Are you referring to the Random Task? The Avalanche come with bead blast and stainless liners. The first few hundred got the titanium liners, Sergius got one.

I have quite a few avalanches some in the old bead blast, some in the new coating. If I have an extra I'll get back with you

rev_jch,

I just got finished replying to you in the other thread on the BF reviews page. Thanks for your consideration regarding a satin finished Blur...I'd be delighted to get a hold of one, even one that well used. In fact, in some ways I enjoy obtaining a well used knife, because it's broken in and somewhat "experienced".

Thanks again, Jeff.
