Hey folks,

I have a Kershaw Barrage and I love the knife. I just don't like the tiny thumbstuds. I like the knife enough however that I want to keep it and just fix the thumbstud issue. The studs are tiny enough and the blade detent is so nice that it sorta hurts your thumb when using the factory studs.

My question is Can I get a larger thumbstud that would fit in the same hole? I would even be OK with just a right handed thumbstud as that way it wouldn't get in the way of the pocket clip on the left side of the knife.

Does anyone know if the factory one is pressed in? I'm betting it is.

Where would I go about getting a thumbstud that would fit and how do they measure thumbstuds and/or the holes they go in? I was poking around at knifekits.com but I'm not sure what I'm looking for really.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!! :)

The small thumb stud is the main thing I don't about my 2445. The one from the cyclone would be perfect for me. But I am sure it has a much bigger hole in the blade. Also I believe all of Kershaws thumb studs that aren't screwed on are press fit. The stud from a Avalanche might work if the hole in the 2445 isn't too big. The Avalanche has a reverse-able stud with a screw on the back. I will try to post a photo.
