Kershaw Better Than Ever

I just got the Kershaw Monitor and it's the best Kershaw manual folder that I've ever handled. It has great flipper action amd feels just as good, if not better than the Benchmade Axis Locks that I've handled. It's a great knife for under $60. The new Launch 15 also seems unbeatable for $150, but I wish the handle was all black. Has anybody else got any of the new Kershaw knives? If so, what do you think? I will always be a fan of Kershaw because the Livewire is what really got me into knives.

I only have two Kershaws, the other one is the Launch 13. Used that one to cut several hundreds of Xmas cards last Dec, and the edge held up real well. Their CPM 154 is not bad at all ... excited to try out their Magnacut.

Kershaw is what got me started into collecting knives, so I will always have a soft spot for them. I still have probably 50 plus Kershaws from the beginning of collecting.
It's kind of funny because the speed safe is what got me into knives, but I don't buy them anymore. It's really only because they don't last very long if you constantly fidget with them. The Hotwire was the first knife that got me in. Then, I got the Leek, Scallion and Chive, which led to many others. The chive is the snappiest non-auto knife that I've handled. I gave up on it after breaking the third torsion bar that Kershaw sent me, though.

Aside from some SAK's, and a classic buck 112,/110, My first "expensive" pocket knife was a BM Griptillian.

I lost it, and went back to big box store basic offerings, whatever was on sale, lots of Gerbers, Schrade, s&w, etc. but it was the Blur, made in USA coupled with 14C28N, nitrogen infused steel, (at a time when I had yet another Gerber, a Bear Grylls lockback, that I couldn't keep sharp, AND I worked at a steel foundry), that brought me back into the folds of knife/steel affection.

Still have 3 Blurs and a Scrambler which is one of my favorite beaters, and still have a place in my heart for them as a brand, would love to see them regain their position in the pecking order of budget knives at both their foreign and their domestic lines.

I used to like Kershaw a lot, and they had a solid entry level lineup that allowed easy access for many new knife owners, and an intro the joys of EDC knife carry. Many of us owe them that debt of gratitude and credit for their role. A Leek was my very first "good" pocket knife.

I'd say that the company has changed a lot in the last decade. I don't find them as interesting as I once did, but they still have a few good ones in their lineup.

I think the last hurrah for the old Kershaw's way of doing things was Link and Dividend in the ~$40 range. Those knives were introduced to show that a quality knife can be made in America for a good price. When they discontinued those, but for the shwanky $100 versions, it sent a pretty clear message. They haven't DCed some their legacy lineup like the Blur, Leek, Chive, and scallion, or shipped them overseas, probably because there would be riots in the streets.

Yeah I don't really buy them anymore either. I did recently pick up the otf one that came out along with an old school junkyard dog and tyrade because I missed them after I sold them lol.

I’ve got the Federalist, Link and some older models. I’ve always had a Kershaw of some sort every since I can remember.

I have been eyeballing the Conduit pretty hard. Really like the look, the stonewash blade, and the Duralock is getting some pretty solid reviews. Lots of complaints about the clip, bit dang it looks cool.

I have a couple of Leeks in 14C28N, a couple of blurs, one of them in S30V.
And I have a Link in 20CV, of which I am quite fond.
The machining on both the S30V Blur and the Link is just absolutely top notch.
