Kershaw Blackout 1550

Yeah, thank you jac_solar ! I didn't research that, but want to let people know that there is not cheap plastic or Teflon spacers!

The Blackout is a classic. It's not only comfy to hold and use, but I also think it's one of the best looking folders ever. It just looks "right" to me. I have two of 'em. The only concern I initially had with these knives was that they opeedn so easily. It seems like you barely bump the studs with your thumb and they fly open. I thought this may be a carry issue, but I've yet to have either one open in my pocket.

G. Scott H. The only problem I have ever had was when I dropped the knife, it sprung open! I was bare footed. Luckily nothing happens, but still scary! Rockywolf that was a very nice gift!

My blackout didn't open easily at all. In fact I tried to get them to send me a Blur thumbstud to put on it to no avail. Ultimately, I sold both blackouts I had.

That's weird. Both mine are like I mentioned above; a gentle touch of the thumb and SNAP! they're open. Like Michigan, I also dropped one of mine (on carpet fortunately) and it popped right open. At least I had shoes on at the time. :D

I noticed a lot of times with liner locks if they are hard to open, and tweaking the pivet doesn't help, put a drop of oil on the liner lock indent! If dry, causes unwanted resistance! Maybe you got a bad one, but mine has been a great companion!
