Hey everyone. I just bought a blur today and I love it. But....The kershaw website says that it is made of 13c26 however some other websites list it as 440. I also read somewhere that they switched from 440 to 13c. is there a way to tell which one mine is? The blade is marked 1670tblkst, nov07. Thanks.

...Brett...I believe that one's 13C26...I'm thinkin' Aug 07 is the cutoff to the Sandvic steels...:)

Brett, they have a "change over" thread listing the dates in the Kershaw section of this website. Just compare the date with your "born on" date on your Blur.

I have both, and they are both great knives. They do make other versions for us "Steel junkies" in S30V, SG2, and one very, very rare version in 440V ( S60V).

Stop by the kershaw section. There is a lot to learn, and the posters are some very nice people that will be very helpfull answering questions. There are also Kershaw representatives that read, and post there. They are great people too. Good luck, Joe

Any of the Blurs stamped with July, '07 or later have the newer 13C26 Sandvik steel.

Yep! For all things Kershaw, just visit the Kershaw forum under the Manufactors section. Great folks all. I also think you have a sandvic Blur.
