I recently de-assisted my Kershaw Blur and even tho I liked it a lot before, I LOVE it now that it's de-assisted. Even tho the detent isn't very strong, I still prefer it much more without the assisted opening. Sometimes I just like to have a more controlled opening I suppose. So for those of you who have a Blur and that have de-assisted it at some point, which way do you prefer it?

I have four of them, all de-assisted. I prefer a controlled opening and they are so smooth de-asissted.

I have 2 Blurs both of which are de-assisted, they are much better this way IMO.

I just de-assisted my Elmax Blur...top notch EDC...debating de-assisting my 0350 ZDP-189 next.

3 Blurs, all assisted. I cannot fathom taking it out.. the fun/speed of an automatic, with all the legality of any other folder. i have no use for the halfway point; its either open of closed, so the fast it gets there, the better.

The Blur I had was de-assisted. It was super fast and smooth. It was faster than most of my AO knives. In fact, all the blades I have de-assisted have been as fast or faster than with the assist, and that speed was controllable. Sometimes you just don't want that thwack. Sheeple think you have a switchblade. With each knife I have de-assisted, I never thought "gosh, I need that torsion bar back in there".

Very easy, as long as you are not intimidated by taking a knife apart. There a probably lots of videos on it.

Just deassisted mine, and i wish I could flip it open in one movement like I can on a skyline. It does move very smoothly but I kinda have to walk it open with my thumb. I havent decided if I like it better or not.
