I purchased a new, all black blur, plain edge on Ebay. The ad stated 14..Sandvik. There are no markings on the blade to indicate metal type. I know there are Blurs manufactured in 13...Sandvik and 440. If I was to sell or trade, how could I prove to the prospective owner, what metal was used?
I have the same issue with my Leek. I believe Kershaw only used 14 Sandvik for the Leeks, unlike the Blur.
Any info would be appreciated.

It could be 13 or 14 Sandvik -- there were a few months when the BOD (born on date) was not put on some Kershaws.

If it doesn't have a born on date it is 14C28N.

Also if it has the new "red" box is 14C28N.

Leeks also went through the same changes as the Blurs.

440A >13C26>14C28N
