I always looked down on 440A until I got my first Blur, which had it. Kershaw does a very good heat treat, and I've changed my opinion of the steel. I guess I just never have had it on a quality knife before.
On the other hand the Blur has been made in some pretty high end steels too. I like them all, and they make a fun collection. Blurs also have been made in S30V, CPM 154 ( powdered 154cm), Takefu's excellent Super Gold 2, and the sandvik steels. Every one is excellent, and a great way to have fun comparing the different qualities of these steels in the same knife.
The S30V, and CPM 154 runs are still available and are very decently priced for the quality. Enjoy your knife!
