Okay guys,

Just got my second Blur and it's the BDZ Tanto version. I like the aluminum frames but the trak tek junk looks cheap. Has Kershaw done any G10 scales for these, or does anyone do them custom on the aftermarket? This would really make this knife a better edc IMO. Thanks guys. And if I were to find a person to make some Black or even color of choice, is anyone else interested?

I looked at the Blur and decided that the trac-tec was done all wrong and looks cheap. I discovered the Kershaw Clash which has the trac-tec done properly. I got the 1678 model in S30V from knifecenter and am very pleased with it. There was one problem that crept in. Before I broke it in the liner lock would fail if I banged the spine. After breakin it is fine now and a favorite of mine. The S30V is miles ahead of 8CR13 and really holds its edge.

I think your talking about the Camber not the Clash. The Camber is a great knife but I think it's been discontinued.

I like the Blur in concept but will probably never buy one for three reasons:

1. assisted opening

2. don't like the Trac-Tec

3. I try to avoid metal scales unless it is a small knife like an Alox SAK

Give me a non AO Blur with G10 scales. Now, that would be a knife worth owning!

This is my thoughts exactly. Get rid of the trac-Tec and de assist and it would be a much finer piece with the G10 scales

Hackenslash, you are correct it is a Camber. I have the Camber in S30V and the Clash in Elmax. What I said about the lockup on the liner lock still applies. The frame lock Clash has been perfect on lockup. Both of them were perfectly centered and perfectly ground. I am very pleased with those two Kershaws.

It would not even need to be G10. I would be very happy with FRN.

BTW, there is a guy over in Russia that makes G10 inserts for the Blur. Look for them on the auction site that is named after a large body of water.

Since we are fantasizing :D,I wish they would make one without a recurve and g10 then you would have something!
