Kershaw Blur Problem

I've carried a Kershaw Blur for the last two years and recently it's lost its click and assisted opening ability. It's like the blade gets caught or something and I took it apart because I thought it was the torque spring but that looks perfectly fine. Does anyone have any ideas or something to help me out?

Call kershaw and request a new tension bar. They will send a new one. Replace it and you should be good to go. The tension bar is what makes it assist open.

When you say it's lost it's "click," are referring to when you close it? As in it no longer snaps closed? If the torsion bar isn't broken, I guess it's possible that it's sagged out, i.e., lost enough of its springiness to cease being effective. If that's the case, then Ajack has the right advice. Hard to say what else it could be without seeing it. Could you post some pics of the knife disassembled? That would be a huge help in diagnosing the issue.

Unless you just like the speedsafe feature, I'd just take the torsion bar out. All my Blurs are deassisted.

I'd send it in to KAI. They will fix it and sharpen it for free. Their customer service has always worked wonders for me.

check to make sure all the screws are tight. If the metal cover over the tension bar starts to loosen somehow then you most likely are losing tension in the spring because of it. Just a possibility. Ive got 7 Blurs. Most have been Franken-Blurred. I have yet to de assist any of them and have the blades center properly afterwards, also after de assisting the blades fall out under their own weight when held upside down. Idk what tricks others use to line up their Blur blades after de assisting etc but itd be interesting to know. Do order another tension bar from Kai might as well.
