I just sharpened up the blade to my liking. It came from the factory very sharp, but i wanted to put MY edge on it. Anyways, when i was finishing up on the fine rods on my sharpmaker no matter how soft i applied the blade to the rod i would get a burr. I check this by rubbing the edge on my fingernail to see if it scrapes any of my nail off. Is this a problem with me or the knife? I've been sharpening knives for a while now.

Ceramics tend to leave more of a burr than other sharpening media, I always had the most trouble with the fine ceramic and burr's. It helps to get the UF rods as you can get a near burr free edge with those but a strop of some good leather and some compound is what you will need to get that burr free edge you are after. Get the UF rods, get a strop and come to the dark side ;) I mean the shiny side :D
