kershaw blur sharpening

so i like to use edge pro to sharp blur, but the stud is get in the way at the recurve. how do you guys sharp this type of knife at the back end near handle.

Set up the knife so that as you approach the heel you can rotate the knife slightly (bring the handle toward you), the angle will allow the stone to clear the thumbstuds. (If you don't want to rotate it, then just set it up at the same slight angle).

Are the thumb studs removable?

I've never owed a Blur so I don't know. But on a Benchmade the thumbstuds come off pretty easily.

I've removed a set before sharpening on my Wicked Edge a time or two.
