Kershaw Blur tinkering

I am shortly going to have two Kershaw Blurs. If i were to want to switch out the blades, does anybody know someone on here that is skilled at this? Being liner locks, I am not sure if it takes particular skill to get the fit of blade and lock just right. Also, who on here does modification on the assisted opening? If i were to want that taken out, does it need to be modified beyond just the removal? I remember reading somewhere that to properly do it you need a new detent system, otherwise the blade will just swing free easily. I do not relish the thought of reaching into my pocket and encountering loose blade. Thanks.

If you try to switch the blades around, the liner lock will most likely not engage or go all the way to the other side, the liner is made for the specific blade inside it, you could try it to see if it works though.

jp, I've done this several times. Kershaw's tolerances are good enough I've never had a problem. Just make sure the blade is open before you take it apart and make mental notes how the parts fit back together. The Blur can be a little trying on re-assembly.

If you do want to remove the SpeedSafe feature, a little work to the detent is required. Check with STR on doing this if you don't feel comfortable with it.
