Was the S30V blade Blur ever made with a non combo edge?

If so, anyone know where i can get one?

Although i like both combo edges and recurves, i just don't like them together.

Thanks

Never saw one (or found one online). I was wondering the same thing for a while.

The 07 line-up will include a stone washed finished S30V Blur (1670S30V) in plain edge only. MSRP $139.95 Delivery will be Jan. 07.

Ooh, that sounds nice! Will the handle be the same?...it'd be nice if it was all G10.:)

Thomas,

Do you have any pics?

I just bought one of the S30V Blurs and it hasn't left my pocket. What's the best way to sharpen the serations? Not that I need to now, I just wondering.

I have the S30V combo but a plain blade would be great. Really like it except that it's a "pocket eater" (as are all Blur's).

A suggestion for Kershaw: lower the height of the Trac-Tec insert about 1/4". My opinion (and that of my jean's) is it's too close to the where the clip attachs to the handle and rubs on the inside of the pocket.

I tried to smooth the Trac-Tec a little with a Dremel but I quickly marked the handle. Not what I wanted for a $100 knife. It's now a "user" instead of a "looker".

I sharpen all my serrated knives on a Spyderco Sharpmaker, using the edges of the triangles, of course. Kershaw's serration design is very different then all others. It has convex serrations instead of concave. It's a great design and you will not need to sharpen them for a long time. It will continue to cut long after the plain section needs sharpening.

I wonder what a fully serrated knife would be like using the Kershaw's style of serrations??

bladeprince, we have addressed the Trac-Tec tape concerns. We will continue to use the same tape, but it is now offered less the ingredient of sand. This reduces most all aggressiveness, and takes away from the worn pockets. It brings a more user friendly feel to the knife. All Storms and Blurs will make this change. I think you all will feel it is a positive change.

Thanks Thomas. Good to hear. I look forward to the introduction of the plain blade.

Thank you

Thomas, it looks like one by one Kershaw is covering all the bases. That's a quick reaction to the pocket wear problem and I commend you and the company for reacting quickly on it with a fix. By the way the Blur in S30V was the first Kershaw I bought in a while. I got sick of fumblimg with the excellent but small Leeks with my semi arthritic hands ( like brick layers hands). The larger knives really do well with my hand, and the Trac-Tec tape kept me from losing grip on the handle. I was using something like that on my metal Spydercos at home. Thanks again. Joe L.

Will the plain edge S30V Blur be a regular production or a limited edition? I got a tactical tanto Blur from my uncle for Christmas and would like to add a recurve Blur to my collection.
