My son had a Walmart card he got as a gift and tonight he bought a Kershaw Blur 1670TBLKSTWM. It seems like a nice knife for the price.
What do you all think of it?
He also ordered a Ka-Bar 1214 fighting knife online a while ago since he is fresh out of bootcamp and gung-ho. ;)
Are these well made knives?

Thanks

Mike

I have one of those. Not the chi-mart model, just the 1670BLK model. Purchased it from a police supply warehouse about six months ago.

First impression, the handle is very very grippy. But even so, it still is comfortable to hold and use for extended periods of time. I have noticed it wearing out the pocket of my jeans though, the pocket clip and frame don't seem to mess up the pocket but just the act of putting it in and pulling it out acts like sandpaper on my jeans. Very easy to disassemble and reassemble for cleaning. I've been using vasoline to lube the washers and torsion bar, keeps the action smooth and quiet. The recurve edge is a pain to sharpen and doesn't seem to get as sharp as some of my other knives (including the leek), but it does take and hold a pretty decent edge with a little work. I don't remember how much I paid for mine, probably more than the wally world one, but it's a good knife.
