I have a Kershaw Blur with a plain un-serrated blade. It has a gray handle. I have had it about seven years now. It is new in box. Does anyone have any idea how rare this knife is? I notice that all the Blur with tanto blade are all black with serrations now. Why no un-serrated?

Thanks

There were several Blurs with a grey handle. What model number do you have? You'll find the model on the blade and on the box. The model number will start with 1670.

Thanks for the information. I assume it's increased in value from the $55 I paid for it in 2005.

You know what they say about assumptions. ;)
I'm sure you could find an interested party willing to pay more than what you paid for it.

If you decide to sell here, all sales here are done in the Exchange. You need need to have a Gold membership or higher to sell. All the info you need is in the FAQ.

Maybe, but my take is that it keeps the integrity of the site intact. :)

I know a few who would wager it does just the opposite.

For instance, had he noticed the rule, we wouldn't be having this conversation which in my honest opinion is still a civil and rather interesting one. He'd probably think, "Well screw them, I'm going to Reddit's knife section.".

...because quite a few do.

I don't see how we broke a rule. He asked if it was rare, not for a value... unless he changed the original post.

You are correct sir! But on some of these forums you run into those who would rather bicker than banter.

From experience, it doesn't matter what the intention was. I posted a topic a few days back with links to a few stores so I could quote the descriptions from them about a knife's blade steel and I got wrote up for spamming / deal-spotting.

I almost thought they were running a filter on here until an actual mod had a conversation with me about it... and he took it seriously as if it actually made sense.

Bloody Boo Boo, many of the rules here are a consequence of our paid memberships, without which Spark would be hard put to maintain the site. Your question did not violate the rules, but many of our members want new members to know that selling does require a paid membership. Without the information, threads like this can slip over into "forbidden territory".

You can see the links in my signature line for a better idea of where and what the the rules are.

You better believe they make sense. I am sorry you aren't willing to understand that, but we will do our best to enforce them.

I'm not seeing it, this forum (to my knowledge) isn't connected to any stores via sponsoring or sales and in the process of disallowing people to share links to stores, it's leaving people on their own to find sales and deals which otherwise would be beneficial to their searches for knives. Not only that but my specific offense wasn't advertising anything, just using the links for information. If I were for instance, a spokesman from one of the stores sharing the links without approval because you require stores to pay a fee to advertise anything in the first place which doesn't make much sense outside of preventing spamming and giving the forum the ability to fill it's pockets a bit, then I would somewhat understand.

...but I'm not. The links were posted to prove a point. I suppose you would rather I post the descriptions anonymously of whatever store they were pulled from, which in the future is what I'll do.

Granted, I won't forget how strict the rules here are and I'll personally be more careful, but it doesn't necessarily mean I agree with them. I'll continue to follow them for the sake that the site pulls far more traffic than any other knife-based board and that is reason alone to stick around.

Blur prices right now are really high due to a group of about 4 collectors. Next month when half of them give up on finding that last Blur and move on prices may drop... thats the nature of all collectibles. I think you'll find some of us will pay more than you could ever imagine for that knife! I know I'd pay a small fortune for it!

You should get yourself a membership and become part of the community. Then you can sell this in the Exchange if you wish but there are also a lot of great folks here and lots of great discussion. I lurked here for years before finally creating an account and after hanging around in the Kershaw forum and finding other Blur lovers decided to change my name and get a paid account. I think you'll find that even though we'll all sell our children and grandmothers for certain knives that sales are hard if you haven't established some level of trust or insist on cash or some weird payment without some sort of minimal asscovering like Ppal. Sales are also banned outside the Exchange but I'm sure if you've got knives you'd like to buy or would like to sell this one you'll find it well worth the small charge for an upgraded membership.
