Hey guys - got a question for ya. Just got the Kershaw Boa, and it is quite the cool knife (especially for $80 on eBay
). Now then. I got the black/black version, because I can't stand the multi-color handle for the chrome version. This is too bad, because I like the chrome blade better than the black blade. That being said, I was thinking of a cool project, and I was wondering what opinions my fellow knutts here would have.
OK. We know the handles are aluminum. I THINK the liners are Ti (can anyone verify this?). Now, I have access to a sand/bead blaster, and I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to blast the handles and liners, to get that matte gray look, and then take a dremel to the blade for a satin finish? It'd make the knife unique and I think, IMHO, better looking too. Now, that's all well and good, but I don't know what would happen to the handles if I blasted them. I.e.: it looks like they're anodized. Can you blast off anodizing? I don't think the blaster would take off enough material to remive the little dimples on the handles. Am I wrong? Can anyone who's used a bead blaster before give me some tips?
Thanks guys!
