Hey all,

I'm just curious after reading another post about Kershaw quality.

Is the tip of your blade centered when it's closed?

Mine (recieved in a trade) is rubbing the scale slightly and sits to the right and touches the side (when viewed tip down)

Is this common? Is this the way it's supposed to be? Hmmmmmmmm....

Thanks,

Open your knife and hold the liner lock in the unlocked position with your thumb. Wiggle the blade side to side with your other hand. If you have play the pivot screw needs tightening. If you have too much sideways play the liner lock will push the blade off center when the blade is closed. If you don’t have enough play the blade will be hard to open and close. Use the correct tool to adjust the screw. I’m not sure what you’ll need without seeing the knife. Good luck.

Linerlocks like the boa often have this problem, the stronger the liner tensions on the blade the worse it can get.
The knife still has to open easily so theres really nothing that
can be done about it, some makers use thick teflon washers between the blade and handles and these soft washers allow the liner to push the blade to one side of the handle, others use metal or brass washers and these seem not to give as much.
Dont worry, your knife is fine mechanically, the blade lean when it is closed doesent effect the knife when it is open ( the liner is behind the blade and not pushing on the blade).

Its much worse to have a weak liner with little tension than
have a strong one that pushes the blade when closed.

Mine is pretty well centered, my guess is that the pivot is too loose, as was suggested earlier. If you tighten the pivot it will probably not rub anymore.
