I just picked up a Kershaw Boa and really like the knife, but it doesn't snap open like my other ( Avalanche & Blackout ) Kershaw knives. I was wondering if there is a way to tune this knife to make it work better ? I have lubed it and worked the blade quite a bit but the action is just still a little dead. I am some what new to knives I could really use the help and woud love to learn more.

Thanks

Too much lube could gunk up the action and slow it down.

The pivot might be too tight. Find the appropriate bit and loosen it up a tad. If it opens properly, yet doesn't have (an acceptable amount of) blade play, you're good.

Otherwise, send it in.

The assist on the Boa is just that: an assist. Because of the heavy blade and the slightly weaker torsion bar, this knife just doesn't have the same Umph that other speedsafe knives have. I have noticed that with these on occasion, it is more helpfull to tighten the the joint. You have to add slightly more pressure to open it, but once the torsion bar is overcome all that excess pressure forces the blade out further. The other option is just to add a little wrist flick as you open it.
