Yes, the Bump is HOT !!! I don't know what they're using for the drop forged military. I got to see one of the originals recently, the German version. VERY nice knife. If the Kershaw is any kind of decent steel, I would snap one up myself.

no one know about the bump yet????...mabye all the benchmaders are frightend by it????...lol;)

aaron,

some folks do have bumps already! Dexter even did a review not too long ago.

However, this knife is quite new yet, so not too many folks have 'em yet. I would love one. Frame lock, sexy shape, color, S30V, decent sized blade... incredible value!

The Bump came out last year before Thanksgiving, actually. Mine hasn't got much carry time, but it is well made and attractive with a wicked sharp blade and a nice crisp speed safe. I'm not crazy about the handle ridges but would have to use the knife for a while to see if they would really bother my hand. The blade is well centered in the handle and the lock-up solid, though the lock bar is shorter than on most frame-locks of it's size.

fred at knifeoutlet has a thread going about the long backorder situation with many dealers. I had my knife on pre-order with knifeworks.com for months before I got it, it is ser#32 with the green handle so I got an early one. If dealers are still listing them as pre-order it probably means they can't keep them on the shelf or fill existing orders as it is.

Question on the Bump:

Is the handle flat with a "bumped" belly? Or, is it thicker through that area (in three dimensions)? I just can't tell from the photos I've seen. Thanks.

The edges of the handle taper along the back in the center to give the piece a palm swell.

Talked with the Kershaw sales lead in Oregon today asking about where I could find a Bump in Michigan...

She said they have only shipped 178 so far, a bunch of those to reps...

So they are out there, but very hard to come by....

FWIW, I just ordered a Bump from the knifecenter, and turn around time from cc approval to UPS ship was <12 hours!

...oh, and I chose green

their slick looking military fixed blade, any thoughts on it? what is the steel? prices?
