i got a kershaw bump from a fellow forumite and i've been carrying it this week. here are my initial impressions:

-it's green...i thought i'd hate it but it's actually pretty cool. i might send it out to a buddy to be stripped and anodized
-it's sooooooooooo smmmmoooooothhhhhhhh! it's onion all the way. i'm a lefty but i find myself reaching with my right hand for my kershaw more than i reach with my left for my sebenza. it's just so much fun to tap that flipper and see that baby open up!
-it's S30V and it's holding an edge great! i haven't even touched it up yet and it's pretty sharp!
-the grip is shaped very thoughtfully. it's very comofrtable and positions you to cut!
-the blade shape...it used to bug me until i tried it....it puts so much edge where you need it! it's another visible onion-design winner!

other than the right-handed only carry, i love this knife. actually, even WITH the righty carry i love this knife! it's always in my right pocket at work and it's there to stay! you've gotta try this knife! it's alot more knife than i thought kershaw was capable of. it's a great knife and a STEAL in it's pricerange. i'm serious!

Agreed! The Bump is a rockin knife.
Curiosity makes me ask for no real reason...Is it Generation 1 or 2?
I think the serials below 5oo is first. Tho I'm not sure at all with the green. I had a blue and savored it :)
If you strip and anodize please post a pic. That'd be cool.

Hi Benchmademan. I thought the Bump was a framelock? Is it left handed friendly? Are you able to close the knife with one hand (your left)? Just curious as I'm left handed, was interested in the Bump, but never saw one in person. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Ive got a blue bump, #93, real smooth. im a lefty, no problems opening. its easier to use the trigger mech than the thumb studs.its real well made, its like a piece of jewelry.a little tricky to close with one hand. the opening trigger can get in the way. i would recommend this knife highly. its very close to a custom.

Thanks for the info Goldie. Its a nice looking knife and the only thing holding me back was whether it was lefty friendly. Will definitely check it out.

Does second gen have a numbering system?

Yup, 301 and above AFAIK. www.NewGraham.com has a good picture of the new gen in blue. One can clearly see the new design - tapered handle edges and revamped blade shape.

The new blade shape gives the Bump a sort of organic feeling - it looks like some kind of living creature - and very hungry .

just to clarify....

it IS a framelock.
i am a lefty but i carry this on my right side, open it with my right and close it with my right...all one handed and all fast :-)

it's #0021 so it's a gen 1. no problems to report. i still love this knife!
