The 1660CB is a composite blade (hence the CB) model made from a CPM D2 edge bonded using copper to a Sandvik 13C26 spine. Ceramic blades are old-school...this is new-school.

The auction even references
Steel: Sandvik Sandvik 13C26 CPM- D2 Composite Handle: 410 stainless-steel

By the way 3rd, welcome to Bladeforums! I know you're new here, so please keep in mind that we do not generally allow links to live auctions, especially from new guys who might be directing visitors to their own or a friend's auction.

Man. Composite blades really are cool. Great new technology. What are all of the composite models released so far? I only know of the leek and the JYDII. Are there others?

Yes, the Tyrade is a great knife. I haven't had the chance to handle one yet, but from everything i've heard it's great. So many Kershaws I need to pick up, and yet so little money.

If you haven't gotten to handle either, I posted some stereo photos (3D) of the Tyrade and the Leek over in my Composite Leek Pics thread.

There are a few smaller parallel view versions of the pics toward the end of the thread that some people might find easier to view.

Both are pretty amazing knives.
