Hello, my chive was really gunked up from excess oiling and the blade would stop right in the middle when I attempted to open the blade, and I was pushing the blade back down and all of the sudden I heard my torsion bar snap! Now the speed safe is useless...Is there anyway I could contact kershaw to get a new torsion bar?

Capt. please call our Warranty Dept at 1-800-325-2891 and they will get you what you need.

Thanks Thomas, I called them up and they were very plesant, no questions asked. Great customer service!

I notice that my Scallion works much better with little to no lube at all. It is my first folder w/ bronze washers and AO. When I dissassembled it I noticed a fair amount of grease in the handle cutout for the torsion bar. Would removing it affect its performance negatively, or is it just there to cut down on friction and wear?

I found a Chive a few months ago, and there seems to be no spring in it. I contacted Kershaw yesterday and the lady was VERY nice. She gave me the choice of either sending the knife to them so they could fix it, or they could send the spring to me and I could do it myself. I opted for the latter, and am hoping to have my spring soon.

Kershaw customer service is the best I have dealed with until now. My Scallion torsion bar broke and they sent me for free some replacements in no time, no questions, I never thought It could be that easy with me living overseas :)
