My wife is considering carrying some flavor of kershaw assisted open knife. I told her about the Chive. Of course she dug the pink one but she wasn't sure if she liked how small it is. The store we were at had a small selection of kershaws and the Chives were over 40 bucks. Is that typical? Maybe I should look around online. Anyhow, what's the next size up Kershaw from the Chive and do any of you have wives that carry a Chive or larger knife? Thanks.

typical price for an online chive is 29 straight up, when you start adding serrations, or coatings or colors they range from mid 30's up to high 50's

hope this helps

My wife carries a partially-serrated Scallion, the next size up from the Chive...decided the chive was too small.

The Scallion seems to be a good size. I keep hearing that the Chive is too small. The mini-Mojo/Mojito would be good, too. I believe they're the same size.

Good luck.

cool. I'll have her check out a pink scallion. She loved the pink Chive but decided it felt too small. She was almost sold on a centofante onion.

I was considering getting a chive, but now I'll look into the scallion for brittney. It may be blasphemous, but I'm not a big fan of the looks of most leeks.

What? No Leek lovers here?:D I think the Leek is a good choice for a woman to EDC; It has a good size usable blade, and the knife doesn't take up all that much more space than a Scallion. I think they come in pink too.

Is the rainbow scallion out by now? See if she likes this finish. I attached my leek as a colour reference. Get the frame lock for her. Easier to work over the liner lock I think, plus its thinner.

To add to the blasphemy, even though I like the Leeks, I think I may like the Scallion a little more. Some of the Leeks are more desirable because of the special runs, but if Scallions were done in those special runs, I'd be all over them. My wife likes the Scallions more than the Leeks...I showed her Chives, Scallions, and Leeks before she made her choice.

You are right, they do come in pink...although my wife wasn't interested in pink...she likes black, so picked the basic black Scallion handle. I actually like Kershaw's pink color, and at some point will probably acquire a Chive or Leek in that color. I like that pink color for the handle along with a black-coated blade, when you can find them.
