The Kershaw Chive is a $30.00-$60.00 knife (depending on place of purchase).
The Chive includes a speedsafe mechanism that works excellently to open the blade extremely fast.
The knife has a flipper on the back to activate the speedsafe, and a safety so it wont open in your pocket.

It is also quite small.

Overall, the Chive would be a great addition to your Kershaw family. It is built very sturdy, with pretty good blade steels.
410 stainless on the handle, and 420HC on the blade.
It came out of the box shaving sharp, and the blade shape is actually a very good carver. The tip is also very sharp and pointy, but doesnt seem likely to break.
The safety is a slider, with an internal protrusion that covers the tip of the blade when closed, therefore not allowing the speedsafe spring to engage.
No doubt, this is an un-intimidating knife that would be appropriate for almost every occasion.
They are also available in different colors, and is strong even though it is the smallest member of the "onion family"
Hope you enjoy!

i gave this particular knife to my padawan to have on her person constantly. I took the time to sharpen it virtually razor sharp because I wanr her drawing blood as soon as she has to open it. This is the Perfect hidden blade for anyone.

This is the one knife I would keep if I could only have one. They are strong and discreet. Never had a problem with mine.

I have the Chive in both Rainbow & Damascus. Working in an office environment - it fits in perfectly & sheeple friendly.
