Concerning the Kershaw 1440 Chubby knife, are there souces out there still selling them for a decent price and where. They seem to be a bit better than the newer Kershaw Half ton 1445 knife.

The 1440 is not a cataloged item, and may be difficult to find from your normal channels.

I think they are both comparable in build quality and performance. Price is where you will find a distinct advantage with the Half-Ton.

Someone once stated the chubby was made in japan and is superior in that sense!
Although it is true that there is a Country of Origin difference between these two knives, I'll stand by my original post. I don't believe there to be a build quality difference with a knife of this category (Injected molded handle, liner lock). The Half-Ton is every bit a good as the Chubby, unless of course you have an aversion to a knife made in China, which is another topic altogether.

This may be general knowledge to you long term guys, but Thomas, do you work for Kershaw or affiliated with them in some manner? If so, in what capacity?
