I know there both inexpensive knives. I could get both if i really wanted to, however if i have to choose which should i get? I want something practical but that i can flip it all day everyday for months without damage. Would i find this in either of these knives. I have never purchased a kershaw product before. What is a speedsafe in the first place? A slow flip assist? Thanks for the help and input.

speedsafe is there assisted opening mechanism, they flip open pretty quick, either of them should last a very long time

you could also consider a blem from kershawguy, they are a great deal and all the ones ive got from him i couldnt even find the blemish, then you could get a usa knife with a better steel for around the same price as the cryo

And then the glass filled handles...one was a glass-filled polyimide handle and the other was a Glass-filled nylon scales handle. Is this of quality as well? Not that it's the most important part of the knife. I just want it to keep color and look nice.

Thanks. I looked through his site but i don't think i'm interested at the moment. I will perhaps come back to that after this purchase though.

Thomas are you high? Hah i'll take you up on that. I think you just made a life time customer. Now...where do i sign up?

Figured it out thanks! I'll get on this in the morning. To crashed to go find my wallet. Happy saturday.

A bit of an old thread, but found it while searching for something else.

Kershaw Speedsafe knives are great -- very fast opening and (usually) durable enough to last for thousands of actuations. However, in the small chance that you do get one with a bad torsion bar (a fairly small piece of metal, so there is always the possibility of getting one that will break), with the China-produced Kershaw knives like the Clash and Burst, you need to send the knife back to Kershaw for replacement.

They don't stock parts for the knives made in China. However, if you spend a bit more and get a USA-made Kershaw Speedsafe knife, they can send you a new torsion bar at no cost that you can easily swap out yourself. Even if the knife isn't broke they'll send you a spare torsion bar to have on hand if you ask them to.

Kershaw's warranty is awesome, but it did suck having to send my Tremor back when I drew the short straw and the torsion bar broke after a few months. I don't have to worry about that with my Leek since it is a USA-made Kershaw.
