I can't find any detailed info on Kershaw's composite blades. So I'll ask you guys. What advantages does a composite blade have over a normal blade? And what are the materials used?

It allows the cutting edge to be a very hard steel and the spine to be much softer, I couldn't say that there are any serious advantages to it. It's a neat look and pretty simple just two steels cutout with mating patterns brazed together with a copper based alloy.

Steels vary but CPM-D2 is a pretty common edge steel.

For one, It looks cool. Also, it allows the edge to hold better without making the body too hard.
