Kershaw Cryo Black Spring Assisted Flipper Knife (2.75" Black) 1555BLK

The only difference is the coating it's really personal preference.......the black will probably show wear a bit more than the bead blasted version though...just my $0.002

Hope it helps!

I've been carrying the black Cryo for a few days now but haven't really needed to use it much for anything. I will say its kind of a glossier coating that Kershaw uses on their blades and it does show some scratches after just being in my pocket. Maybe scuff is a better word. Its not clear through the coating just on the surface, kind of like when you have a scratch in the clear coat of a car. Can't really see it unless your inspecting it. Doesn't bother met any, as I bought this little beast to be a user. If it looks like hell in a year I will pony up another $35.

Hello Fellow Knife Collectors,

I am trying to decide on which style Cryo would be the best choice to get for everyday carry. Is there any considerations I should be looking at when choosing between these two styles?

Thanks for your recommendations.

I ordered both of them. I have had the "titanium-carbo-nitride" finshed version for about a month and like it a lot. A nice little assisted opener with a decent deep carry clip from the factory. I got a decent tax return and couldn't resist buying the black and bead blast finish versions to keep it company. Will try to post side by side pics when I get the knives.

Thanks for the replies! I have 2 of the chives and the black one is stamped "Made in the USA" The stainless steel one is from China?

I have been looking at Amazon as they are running a $10.00 off if you spend $50.00. It's to bad they don't have the larger Cryo II in stock yet.

Since there doesn't appear to be any advantages to the black Cryo, I think I'll stay with the Titanium coated model for now.

I had the titanium coated original model, and I liked it a lot. Spotted my brother in law carrying a rusty S&W who-knows-what junk, so I gave him the Cryo. He loves it. I didn't realize how much I loved that blade until I didn't have it, so I ordered another just the other day, and now I have the bead blast version. Even better in my opinion. Looks like this will wear out "nicely." Also, this one is much smoother than my last! What a bonus.

Go with bead blast!

I am eager to get the Grey one myself. But I may wait to see the Cryo 2.

Update: I got to handle a cryo and it felt too small for me so I will wait for the larger cryo 2. I did love the clip... looks like a pen in your pocket.
