Hey guys, I just got my cryo. Ive noticed that when closing the knofe there is a lot of tension before it closes. Is this part of the hinderer design? Never had a knife do this. Thanks!

That's the torsion bar loading up.

Yup, as previously mentioned, it's just the torsion bar for the assisted opening feature. All kershaw speedsafe knives will have a similar feel.

Oh OK, thanks guys!
So it's normal?
Seems almost dangerous that it's that hard and has that kind of tension to close...

Without that tension, the assist mechanism serves no purpose. May as well take out the torsion bar all together and use it as a manual folder.

It doesn't really matter, the assisted mechanism isn't that strong and it's quite easy to push the blades back in.

Mine has softened up a little bit with use. Just keep using it and it'll probably break in a little.

You'll get used to it and soon you won't even notice that you have to push harder than a manual.
