..............or should i get the benchmade Volli?

Just caught the lower end knive bug and recently got the ZT 200, zt 0550 and 0560 and I am blown away by ZT knives.. Now i want to try some even lower end (cheaper eprice) knives and between these 3 I cannot decide.

Maybe you can tell me which is the best from the 3?

is the Kershaw Cyro the best knife of the year for the money? Isn't it to similar to my 0550?

The Benchmade volli has a nice grip/handle and i like that. I also love lw knives like the Skyline.

I am a bust and just want to get one for now. Help me decide with your vote.

Powernoodle votes for the Skyline. Its thin, light weight, utilitarian and has a certain aesthetic appeal.

Is the Cryo similar to the 0550 you say? No. Not really. Its a decent knife, but heavy for what it is. Mine never gets carried. Just my view of things.

I vote skyline as well, but only because I prefer manual openers to assisted. That being said, the cryo is also a great little knife. Here's mine side by side with a 0550 for comparison purposes:

cool pic!
I didn't know te Cryo was that small. or isn't the cryo II bigger?

I like the skyline more. Cryo just doesn't do it for me after EDCing many times.

I'll be the 100th person to say skyline.....good ergos, nice thin blade, and a very good clip!

I vote that you get 2 Kershaw Tremors

Or the black cryo. IMHO the skyline, just doesn't do it for me.

I've had a Skyline for over a year, and just never took to it. Bought a Cryo today, so haven't had it very long, but man it is one slick knife.

The Cyro is similar in style to the ZT knife lines but it is quite a bit smaller and much cheaper steal. It also had SS scales instead of G10..ect.

I think it's actually a good knife for someone who wants ZT styling but can't afford a ZT just wants the look of a ZT.

I don't think it's too heavy for most people, only 4.2 oz which is a good EDC size/weight, IMO.

My vote goes to the Skyline. For only about $10 more, you get a lot more quality from the Skyline than the Cryo. That's not to say the Cryo isn't a kick-ass knife, but I think the better purchase would be for the Skyline. It's lightweight, ergonomic, sheeple friendly, and it's got a great pocketclip. You won't regret it.

I've had a Skyline for over a year and absolutely love it. I have 6 different models. It's fun to play with and has an excellent steel. I got a Cryo last week and was excited. I finally got to use it at work today and was not too impressed. I knew the 8Cr steel was lower end, but it was quite horrible. There was a definite degradation in the edge much quicker than I expected. I can usually go a week between sharpening knives but I'll have to tough it up tonight

Yeah, biggest knock on the cryo is the steel. It's a good light use steel but my Brawler dulled up after cutting out two 2x2 sections of cardboard and I believe it's the same steel in the Cryo. The Sandvik steel in the Skyline is probably two steps above the 8cr and better suited for a utility knife.

I couldn't decide between the two either. Ended up buying them both a while back. Then I got the red Skyline, then the blue Skyline, then the black Cryo. Waiting on the Cryo 2 to become available. I have to admit that I carry the Skyline more than the other knives I own.
