I don’t like flippers. I don’t like assisted openers. I don’t really like Kershaws. I don’t buy many knives that run less than $50. But I LOVE the Cryo.

While I’m waiting for my first ZT (the 0556) I thought I would scratch the itch with a Cryo. I was ready to be disappointed, but curious. For about $30, I thought I would take a chance.

The fit and finish on mine is excellent. Lockup is solid. I took it apart, pulled out the torsion bar, and put it back together without further mods. The action is silk-smooth (maybe the 4 washers help?). It’s got nice rounded edges and good jimping. The deep pocket clip is sweet. I thought the weight would be an issue, but it makes it feel like a more substantial knife. If you took away the branding and put it in my hand, I’d guess it was easily a $100+ knife. It reminds me a little of the Surefire Jekyll, which was more than $30!

I DO like smaller knives that feel bigger than they are. Anyone else surprised by this one?

Maybe not surprise me, but it exceeded my expectations when it arrived. It's definitely a solid little knife and It's one of my favorites.

I am also a huge fan of the cryo, it can often be seen accompanying my bike backpack on a ride. I am ready for the cryo 2, should be getting one soon :)

I can dig the Cryo. If they made one with their Sandvik, I would get one in a heartbeat. I usually don't like assisted knives, but I am hard pressed to find anything I don't like about the Cryo.

Yeah. I think it would've been nice in Sandvik with G10 scales and maybe a 3" blade.
