Hi :) been a member for a while but finally decided to post :D

Ive been thinking about ordering a damascus leek but would like to know a few things:

Does the damascus have high contrast or are its line and curves hard to see? It looks high contrast in pictures but haven't seen it in person

Does the damascus preform better then the standard 440A leek blade?

and finally, are there any special maintenence things I have to do to the blade?

sorry about the stupid questions, but ive never owned anything damascus :o

thanks for all the answers :D

Welcome to the Kershaw sub-forum.

You can't go wrong with a Damascus Leek. I love them, as you can see from my avatar.

Yes, the contrast is excellent.

I do believe the Damascus blade is holding up better than my 440 knives.
Staying sharp long is always a plus.

Keep some oil on the blade. Use a small rag/towel with oil (I usually use vegetable oil because it is used for cutting up food)
I wipe the blade down at least a couple of times a month.
