Ok, I've had my eye on a kershaw knife in Damascus for a while now, either the leek or the skyline, but I'm concerned about rust. I plan on using this knife, and it gets hot here in the summer, meaning there could be sweat on the blade until i could wash and dry it.
Would it be possible to force a patina via a lemon juice or vinegar dunk on the blade? I've heard it would dull the Damascus pattern. I like a more subtle pattern anyway, but I don't want it to go away completely. Does anyone have pics of a patina'd Damascus blade? Any stories about using your Damascus, and how easily or not it rusts? Tell me what I want to hear, fellow addicts!
