Has anyone dissasambled a Kershaw Speed Safe knife?

If so it is as difficult as an auto or is it easy?

I am interested in removing the blade from a Boa to remove the black coating (I can't take black coatings:mad: )

Thanks

I used to have a thread here somewhere here's an old pic of a Chive.

I'll have to take new pics of disassembled knives and locks now that I have my new digital camera.

Hope this helps till then.

I have taken apart my Leek with no problems. You simply have to put the spring back correctly. I don't have experience with the Boa though. Anyone know if it uses a similar assisted mechanism?

Thanks guys.

And about the black on the kershaw blades, does anyone knows if it is possible to remove?

With LOTS of elbow grease and lots of sandpaper, yes, but it is not one of those coatings that you put into paint thinner or that you could scratch off with your fingernail. Its DLC, which is about the toughest coating out there.
