So... I'm getting ready to order a couple knives. One is the Kershaw Link in M390.

For the second... I'm trying to decide between the Kershaw Dividend in M390... Or the House of Blades exclusive "Back the Blue" Dividend in s35vn. The s35vn is $10 more, but $5 of that goes towards the C.O.P.S. foundation which helps support families of police officers that have been killed in the line of duty (my dad is a homicide/arson detective for a large department, so I think this is pretty cool). Because of this, I will donate $10 to the foundation if I go with the cheaper M390 blade... So consider the prices equal.

The knives may end up as EDCs or they may just end up a part of my collection... Undecided at this point.

Any input??

I want to say aesthetics are going to be your biggest differentiator for now. I say for now, because unless you're going to run them dull, you'll be fine touching them up. If it matters to you about reprofiling, just know how long you're going to be at the table doing so (I can only speak for M390 and XHP, but they both like to play nice with my stones, so you're not going to be too frustrated if you make little mistakes.) I like the black handle because it doesn't feel like I'm showing too much, but then again, I am very self-conscious in general.

That's kind of what I was thinking... As long as I maintain them, I'd probably never notice the difference. I'm a big tinkerer too, so I imagine I'll be slightly over-maintaining them. Seems like resell value might be a little better on the M390 (or at least quicker to sell) but maybe not since the HoB Dividend is an exclusive... But that shouldn't make a difference because it will be staying in my permanent collection. If I was going to sell one, I'd be much more likely to sell the larger Link.

I didn't think about the color being eye-catching in the pocket for some reason, lol. I thought the blue handle looked pretty nice and that it would add a little color to my collection (all black or gray, other than the Opinel)... But I'm not really trying to draw attention to the knife in my pocket. I'm in Seattle way too often for that, and they're a little weird about knives there.

Just ordered the Dividend M390, sorry I sold my first one. Now if I could get a deep pocket clip for it.

Yea... I'm thinking I should go the same route.

Done deal. :D

Once a blade is in my collection, resale value dies immediately lol

I forgot who said it, but it was along the lines of "if you take this out of your pocket, no one's going to be scared of a blue knife". Then again he was talking about the bugout so take that with a grain of salt.

Enjoy your new knives!
