I just got in my Kershaw Double Cross today. Wow!!!!!

This is a drop dead gorgeous knife!!! I could go on and on, but let's just say that it's the best looking pocketknife in my collection. Kershaw did a very nice job with the cherry wood handles. The rounded styling is outstanding. As far as functionality goes, you can’t get much better either. It has thumb disks for one-hand opening, as well as nail nicks for the old farts. It’s not a slip joint, but better IMHO. There’s a center liner lock that locks the blades on both sides, and nice strong ball detents. This knife exudes quality through and through.

I think I just found a permanent pocketknife to go with my large Sebenza. The Seb comes out for big jobs, and the Double Cross appears for small cutting chores and sheeple filled places. This is a very sheeple-friendly knife. I can’t imagine anything less threatening than a traditional pocketknife, and especially one that with looks like the Kershaw.

The blades are also much to my liking. There’s a very serviceable drop point as the main blade, but it’s the secondary blade that really draws me to it. It’s pretty hard to find a good quality pocketknife with a Wharncliffe blade, but the Double Cross delivers here. If you ask me, the Wharncliffe gets the vote for classiest looking blade shape ever invented.

Yes, the Double Cross is a bit on the expensive side for a pocketknife, but the features and looks more than compensate for the extra buckazoids. Think of it like this. You get the outstanding looks of a Case, coupled with the lock and steel of a CRKT. No more of that darned 440a to deal with. And unlike most pocketknives, the Double Cross actually comes pre-sharpened. What a novelty!!!

If you love traditional pocketknives and slip joints, you should definitely give one of these a try. The Double Cross is a classy, well-made knife. It’s that easy.

Great review Buzz.
I really liked this knife the momentt I saw it. It's a perfect little pocket knife for all the reasons you mentioned. I think Kershaw is doing one heck of a job with their slection of knives.

The Double Cross reminds me of a Murray Sterling knife that I've had on My Wish List since I saw a picture of it in Blade magazine. I've exchanged E-mail with Murray and he can make me one in stag. :)
Now all I have to do is find the money. :(

This Kershaw may just have to fill the gap until I do.

Wow!!! Those Sterlings are GORGEOUS!!!!

I booked that web site in a heartbeat!!!!

I have several "EDC" knives of which I carry one all the time. The DoubleCross has just about bumped all the others out of line!Beautiful, functional, easy to carry, and SHARP! I'm in love with this little Kershaw.:D

I have seen these Kershaws (the other version is a bit larger, with a long spey blade instead of the Wharncliff)at Dennis Wright's shop. They are beautiful. My question is, when you carry the Doublecross in your pocket, do the thumb studs stick out enough to wear the pockets?

I carry both the Double Duty and Double Cross. Both are awesome ! Wicked sharp ! ! :D

Rest perfectly in the pocket. I don't have any problems with the thumbstuds grabbin' the pocket. :D

Perfect mixture of the old and new. Only wish they had a lanyard hold in the bolster. ;)

Get one or both ~ you won't be disappointed !
