I found the Double Duty on sale at SMKW for 19.99 and had to have one. After having it on back order for about 2 weeks, I finally got mine today.
Blades- Two 3.25 in blades of AUS-6, one clip, one spey. Both came very sharp out of box, just short of shaving. After a few swipes on the Sharpmaker at 30 degrees, hair just runs away. I can't speak for the edge retention yet, but I'm sure that it will be typical of the steel. However, for an EDC, I have no problem with it.
Handle- Heavy duty brass liners with bolsters and polished wood handles. Down the center of the handle lies a dual liner lock which I have to admit is an interesting concept. Very nice fit and finish.
Lock- As I mentioned, it is a dual liner lock. Both blades open crisply and lock open with authority. There is no blade play in any direction and I have no concerns about accidental closings.
Overall, the Double Duty is a great knife. I don't know if I would have payed the full retail, but at 19.99 it's a steal.
Thanks,
Matt
