Kershaw Echelon - De-assist the speedsafe - how to?

Alright... I feel like an idiot but I cannot get the large screw for the pivot of my Kershaw Echelon to unscrew at all using my hex screwdriver - the back-side of the echelon pivot is a silver flat ____ (I do not know the technical term) and all the other side does each time that I unscrew the 'screw' side is rotate in the hole area.... and it never loosens.

Net result is that I cannot open up the knife to take out the speedsafe wire to de-assist my knife because the other side of the what the screw is 'screwing into' just rotates. If the opposite of the screw side stuck out like a washer, I would grab it with a wrench - but it does not protrude and my finger cannot stop it from going around and around.

Does anyone have a solution that they would be willing to share?

Here is the back of the pivot screw image:

Maybe a metal C Clamp to hopefully hold that silver flat other side still...?

Open the knife and make sure its securely locked, use a piece of wood, hold the handle and push the spine of the blade near the tip against the wood like your trying to close the knife (again make sure its securely locked open). Unscrew the pivot while applying this pressure.

Just using pressure from my finger was enough when I disassembled mine. If the wood trick doesn't work, try dunking it in some warm/hot water to loosen up to loctite.
