After seeing this knife advertised in Blade, I have had the "hots" for it. I just got it off of eBay, and have played with it a little bit. At first, when I got it, I did not like the looks of it. It resembles the Blackout/Whirlwind/Avalanche assisted openers, but is a fixed blade. It almost has a full hollow grind, but is thick enough. The handle looked flimsy at first, but felt good in my hand. The sheath is an absolute POS, and I will get a good leather sheath for it ASAP. I was a little dismayed to see CHINA on the handle, the knife is a Ken Onion design, and looks well made, so after using it, the CHINA stamp doesn't really bother me anymore. The knife that I bought was used, but it was razor sharp. I don't know if that was the edge that Kershaw put on it, or the previous owner, but FWIW, it was still razor sharp. I used it to whittle some wood, drove it into a wall stud, no problems. Will post a full review later.

I picked one of these up yesterday. I like the knife, but the sheath sux. Any ideas on where to get a decent leather one?

I sold mine a long time ago, I have a Schrade sheath I was using, I can post some pics tonight. If I still have it, it fit the Echo pretty well, but I didn't carry it on my belt much. More stored it in the truck.

Hey Guys...

Great knife for the price...

As for the "CHINA" on the handle..
Wrap a couple of popcicle sticks with some fine sandpaper and carfully sand off the word. Then with a lighter you can heat polish the area, almost bringing it as if it was never there....

I also have Concealex sheaths available for the Echo...Drop me a note if you are interested..

Had mine for a year now. Excellent for skinning and nice profile. There are better for general work.

Mine came with a leather sheath that is carefully thought out for production but just doesn't jell.

As being new to this site and sheaths has been mentioned - a question. Does anyone here make custom sheaths? After having my original Randall Sting ripped off years ago (by a brother no less!) I have purchased the new Sting. I'm extremely happy with the new one [consider it better] but the sheath sucks: comes up too far in back which prohibits one getting their hand on the haft easily (I have to pull it out with a thumb and two fingers - rediculous). The original leather one was immensely better and hope to find someone who can make something like the original - doesn't need to be leather. Anyone?
